I'm Dani.

I‘ve been a pediatric nurse practitioner for nearly a decade. I’m known for my dimples, my dedication to children’s health, my love of science, and for taking way too many pictures of my goldendoodle.

My passion is teaching moms practical pediatrics. This is what I fondly think of as the art and science of taking care of sick children at home. When it comes to children, there is nothing I love more than giving moms reassurance about what’s normal, and education to handle what’s not. I do this in the MomNurse Academy, where we turn moms into MomNurses who learn how to confidently take care of their children at home. That’s what makes my KidNurse world go round. I don’t want any mom left alone at home worrying about their baby, not knowing what to do. That’s what my KidNurse corner of the internet is dedicated to solve.

I’m a born and raised Arizona girl. I graduated from Arizona State University with my bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2009, followed by my master’s degree in nursing in 2010. Uniquely enough, starting college early allowed me to graduate as the youngest nurse practitioner in the country (hence the birth of my college nickname, KidNurse, which clearly stuck).

Hey mom,

Dani

My first clinical rotation in pediatrics had me sold for life. I became a pediatric nurse practitioner and never looked back. In 2014, after many years of working in pediatric primary care, I started KidNurse to share the important pediatric information I was teaching in my exam room every day. Since then, we have reached millions of parents across the world.

At home, you can find me happily wearing yoga pants and drinking too much coffee, with a stack of pediatric textbooks always within reach. My greatest pet-peeve is finding pseudoscience and misinformation about child’s health online, so I spend a good amount of time clarifying that for parents on the blog. When I’m not reading, writing, and teaching moms, I’m with my amazing husband, Daniel (yes, we have the same name and yes, it’s awesome) and we are likely spoiling our aforementioned overphotographed, highly-loveable goldendoodle, Abby.

Much love,

My first clinical rotation in pediatrics had me sold for life. I became a pediatric nurse practitioner and never looked back.

I learn so much from Dani.
KidNurse is easily one of the most useful pages I follow.
